NAPOLEON

Napoleon Assignment
The assignment is to create a visually-appealing biography of Napoleon, in a PowerPoint
format. The focus of this biography is to reflect the highlights of Napoleon’s life and career.
You must choose either ‘A’ or ‘B’; doing both would simply be too much.
A. Napoleon’s Life & Career
1. Napoleon’s childhood and early career (up to 1795 – Convention riot)
2. Napoleon’s marriages
3. Rebuilding a strong France
4. Napoleon crowned Emperor
5. Napoleon the General – (here you only mention his campaigns)
6. Abdication & Exile
7. Exile to Saint Helena & Death

B. Napoleon’s Military Campaigns
1. Napoleon’s childhood and early career (up to 1795 – Convention riot)
2. Napoleon, the General – (you need to describe his leadership qualities; popularity)
3. Italian Campaign
4. Egyptian Campaign
5. The Spanish Campaign
6. The Russian Campaign
7. Battle of Waterloo
8. Abdication & Exile
9. Exile to Saint Helena & Death
Once you have made your decisions on what you are doing, provide me with your decision
before proceeding. Then you will need to do your research (video, textbook, online resources)
and decide what the important points are that you intend to include in your final product. This
would be a good assignment in which to use mind-mapping, to organize your ideas before
proceeding with the project. If you have an outline, it will greatly assist in using your time more
efficiently when you do your research.
Bonus Mark: Provide a good mind map BEFORE starting your research.
