3. Society and politics in the 13 colonies in the mid 1700's were prosperous and home to diverse groups. There was a good deal of free discussion about politics and a sense of having a seperate identity from Britain.

4. The increase in conflict between the colonists and Britain is because the colonists resented the new taxes that Britain imposed to help pay for the Seven Years'War. They opposed taxes without representation in Parliament.

5. A loyalist may have opposed the American Revolution as some colonists thought that because colonies belonged to Britain, therefore the colonists owed alligence to it. Britain also supported and protected the colonies.

6. Your answers in this question will vary and should reflect an understanding of the Bill of Rights.
